NARRATIVE ILLUSTRATION

As a freelancer, I have the pleasure of working with some incredible authors to illustrate children's books. My first ever illustrated children’s book was alongside the author Sarah Naish for her book,

‘Rosie Rudey and the Nearly Broken Leg’

which you can find on Amazon here.

I have also teamed up with poets and other artists to produce a couple of zines.

I collaborated with the company Write Club in Bristol to create a poetry zine called 'The Elements', where my water design was used on the front cover and I also illustrated one of the poems in the zine itself.

I have worked on two artists' zines so far, one personal and one published.

The personal zine was for a university module on my MA, where I and 3 other illustrators created 'The Dada Scene', where we used features of the Dada art movement to create a short comic.

The published zine is called 'The Unseen', published by Pitville Press. The theme for this zine was 'time' so I created one illustration to be included in the zine.

For my undergraduate degree in English, I wrote, illustrated and analysed my own short story. Named 'Moriko and the Sea of Trees', my dissertation project was heavily influenced by Japanese mythology. This project earned me the grade of a first and I was also presented with the 'Nigel Winn Memorial Prize for Creative Writing'.
